The Line Up

Move over Final Four, RKF has Seven from Heaven!

“A Black Tri Affair” looking for some Cinderellas

BrandLaTriBlackTriLogo NCAA basketball tournament isn’t the only place for athletes & teams to rise up and show their stuff.  A week after Rocketchix I, RKF’s Louisiana Tri takes place in New Roads. Sponsored by NRG Energy, the theme this year is a Black Tri Affair. There are 2 divisions: a friendly beginner and a standard.

The beginner division is a 400m open water swim / 18.6 mile bike ride / 5k run. This makes it a perfect “step up” for a Rocketchix and a great entry level open water swim tri for any aspiring or veteran triathlete. The beginner division will be the last wave into the water so no worries about another swim wave coming up behind you.  Awards for this division are limited, so if you want to be eligible for age group awards you will need to register for the standard distance of 800m swim / 18.6 mile ride resurfaced roads / 5k run.

Only 4 spots remain for V.I.P. treatment!

For a voluntary $30 donation to RKF, 15 participants have the option become V.I.R. (Very Important Racers) and receive a sweet package of VIP extras: parking pass to VIR parking area, a special VIR bike rack, extra drinks at post race party, and their name on a star! We know you are kind of a big deal, flaunt it!

Want to save $55? Register for Roux, get La Tri for Free!

From the initial set aside, a limited number of spots are still available for athletes ready to register for both Louisiana Tri and River Roux Triathlon. Register for Roux, use the code: BLACKTRIROUX when you and race Louisiana Tri for FREE.  The discount will appear on the La Tri checkout. Or, if you register for La Tri first, the discount will appear on the second Roux registration. Remember you must use the code: BLACKTRIROUX.

Meet Callie Boudreaux – Attorney / RKF Fundraiser / Fitness Ringleader / DJ!

7b Calli At River Roux

Callie Boudreaux is a great example of the variety found in the #WeAreRKF family! An attorney and partner at Watson Blanche Wilson & Posner, she is also an accomplished fundraiser, fitness run ringleader and also referred to as DJ Calli Call!

In November, Callie raced River Roux Triathlon in the Charity Wave. Racing in the Charity Wave requires athletes to raise $500 for RKF and in return they get placed in the first swim wave plus some awesome RKF swag – like a race jersey!

As part of her fundraising effort Callie created a blog “Tri Like a Boss” to share her journey from 0 to 70.3 miles with some stories, stops and deliciously fun detours along the way.

Well, Calli knew what she was doing as she BLASTED past the minimum fundraising goal and raised $2,360 to benefit RKF community health and fitness programming.

Callie is also a great model for getting fit with maximum fun. She’s also known for infectious enthusiasm. You can spot Calli running while rocking out to one of her signature “DJ Calli Call” Spotify playlist and after events cheering and supporting others working to reach their own fitness goals.  No wonder there’s a crowd wherever Calli goes!

Check out Calli’s blog at

And if you want a little of that DJ Calli Call mojo on your next run, check out her public playlist on Spotify, like this one*

* Fine print: Calli likes to keep it clean, but a stray version may have crept its way onto the list. You’ve been gently cautioned.

Giving Back

Rouge Roubaix teams with RKF to “rebound” funds into the community!

3 Rouge Roubaix PhotosRouge Roubaix by 4th Dimension Fitness is a challenging and unique 106 mile road and gravel cycling event that took place on March 14th and 15th, 2015 in St. Francisville, LA. Pros and cyclists from all over the country travel to West Feliciana to tackle this beast of race. With a noncompetitive Gran Fondo ride on Saturday and the race on Sunday, this weekend long event brings national cycling attention to the West Feliciana area. During the race it is not uncommon for tired riders to drop out, but this year 100% of the female racers completed the event and every finisher crossed under the orange RKF finish arch!  Look for coverage in an upcoming Bicycling Magazine edition as they were onsite to cover this home-grown ‘Classics’ race.

Rouge Roubaix is committed to giving back to the community teamed up with RKF to support West Feliciana High School Physical Education and Athletics. Litespeed donated a T5 Gravel Bike and each participant and volunteer received one chance to win the bike. Additional tickets were sold and all proceeds go to the school to support physical activity resulting in a $3,000 donation to the West Feliciana High School PE and Athletics.

Rouge Roubaix and RKF are both delighted to be able to give back to the community that supports multi-sport athletes so graciously!
