LSU Natatorium

An Athlete Guide will be forthcoming, giving parents and racers all the information they need to know for race day.

Apollo: 100m Swim, 2 Mile Bike, .6 Mile Run)

Saturn: TrSaturn: 200m Swim, 4 Mile Bike, 1.2 Mile

Sputnik: 50m Swim, 1.2 Mile Bike, .6 Mile Run

The race is for boys and girls ages 6-14.  Your child must be 6 years old on race day to register. All racers must register in the age division for the age they will be on RACE DAY

***This race does NOT allow training wheels on the bike or flotation devices in the swim. NOTE: Rocketkidz Rookies in June is the beginner kids race where training wheels/flotation and distances are available for all ages.

Rocketkidz LSU does not have a non-swimmer division so all kids need to be able to swim the distance unassisted.  6 year olds will swim 50 yards, 7-10 year olds will swim 100 yards and 11-14 year olds will swim 200 yards.  We will have lifeguards and volunteers on hand throughout the swim.

Parents are not allowed in the transition area for Rocketkidz LSU, the children must do all parts of the race on their own.  We will have volunteers on hand to help put on helmets and tie shoes, etc.  Transition opens at 5:45 am and will close at 6:45 am.  This means your child’s gear must be set up and everyone must be out of the transition area by 6:45am.  The race will start at 7:15 am with race announcements and the national anthem.  The 6 year olds will start first and once they are off of the the bike course, we will start the 7-10 year olds and then the 11-14 year olds.

Your child MUST have a helmet or he/she will not be allowed to race.  No training wheels are allowed.

Your kids will be chip timed and results will be posted at the race site and on our Facebook pages and websites.  We also have Guillory Photography taking pictures along the course and these will be available to purchase a week or so after the event (you will get an email).
